Ubicado en un edificio de 1906, rediseñado por el famoso diseñador Philippe Starck en un estilo barroco contemporáneo, el hotel es de una gran elegancia. Con 16 plantas, las zonas comunes son una maravilla de contrastes en blanco y negro. Las 372 habitaciones, decoradas en tonos y mobiliario clásicos y relajantes, ofrecen espléndidas vistas de Union Square. Pero lo mejor es el sublime Redwood Bar, con sus paneles de madera de los años 30 y cuadros de alumnos de Klimt.

Magnificent hotel with excellent location located at the city center,extremely clean & comfortable . Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff . Front desk concierge Steve makes our trip more interesting with his advices & tips about the city must visit places. Tourists attraction , shops,restaurants bars are within walking distance. I Would definetely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again Steve and Albert for going just that little step extra to make our vacation memorable.

Clean rooms, nice amenities, excellent staff, solid location. Would have liked a 24-hour snack/drink vendor/machine, but there are nearby convenience stores. The bar was also very nice and was also a popular location for GDC conference attendees, which was great for networking. (Excellent live jazz combo Thursday day night.)

The hotel is really nice. The room I got was an upgraded corner King Suite and it was quite large and comfortable. The room had been recently renovated with new carpet and furniture, etc. Really nice. The price I paid was also quite good as compared to other hotels in the area.

Pros:
- The room (as described above)
- The staff (all very nice)
- The location (as needed to get to the Moscone Center every day).
- The Redwood Room (bar) - It's iconic and must have at least one cocktail there if you plan on staying at The Clift.

Cons:
- The location (as it's a zombie apocalypse outside) - I do not recommend walking in this area alone (especially at night).
- I got charged $75 for an early check in - I mean if the room was already ready/available - no need to charge me for that. With that said, I got an upgrade out of it so it kind of evened out.

All and all - I had a great stay at The Clift and would very much recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to have a nice room in San Francisco.
