We loved our stay at the Banana house! It’s beautiful, very clean, the staff is extremely friendly, the yoga is great… we will definitely stay there again! And definitely join in on the Swahili dinner- a must !
I would definitely come back to this place. Really recommend it for couples and solo travelers. I stayed for two nights escaping the cityscape. It was amazing experience overall. Staff are friendly and food is great.
the room (we were in the Sweet Penthouse), the staff - all were lovely. Breakfast served to our room was a delight. banana house is in Shella and it is easy to get to Lamu town from here. You can do as much or as little as you want... The bed was high and not always easy for me.
Leaving back the lively Lamu town we needed something to relax. Something to stop the time, and thankfully we found the Banana House and their amazing Wellness Penthouse Suite. We had a huge balcony with sea view and floating beds. We spent a lot time there reading books and relaxing. The room had the Swahili style, open air with a huge and comfortable bed. Every day the staff, after the cleaning made also the mosquito net to our bed.
The pool is inside the astonishing garden, you are getting a feeling like you are in a jungle. We enjoyed our breakfast every day on our balcony. The breakfast had many choices for every day and Swahili breakfast which was really nice. We had also lunch by the pool which was really nice with good fish options.
As the Wellness Centre of the island, we had many choices in Yoga classes and massage sessions. Also we had a cooking class with a local family, to their house and we arranged boat trips with the hotels captain.
Maybe the most convenient part is the hotel's staff. Everyone is really polite and helpful, you think that you are with a big family in this hotel. The girls who they are using the email, helped me from the first moment to arrange the money transfer and to book the room.
Hope to stay again in Banana House, to the same room, but for more days this time!
