We've experienced some troubles with the hotel and felt not welcomed in that hotel. There were two groups of people and as asians we felt some rudeness from the staff, especially from the bar.
Amazing stay peaceful location. We managed to see the northen lights here. Breakfast was good. Don't know why so many bad reviews. We had a brilliant time and recommend
Nice and cute rooms. Stayed in this place because it’s close to the next attraction, the glacier. No other buildings or stores around. The breakfast was really good. The dinner was ok but it’s not my type for the price.
I read the reviews beforehand and I can say the hotel has listened to the feedback and reviews.
The service was lovely, genuinely, caring and interested. The food catered to a broad range of cultures. What we and our co-travellers ate was delicious and fresh. The staff and chef constantly checked the food and its levels and the general cleanliness.
The rooms were simple, but clean, warm, functional and had everything we needed. Plus there was 2 seats for relaxing.
It’s central to a number of tourist locations. It has a great view and varying options for accommodation. So please consider what you are paying for. We had we had the second level of rate room which is obviously better than the lowest. Which addresses some of the other review complaints.
It’s worth giving them a go. They have listened.
Rooms are good for the price, no kettle which is frustrating, we were asked to use the coffee machine for hot water.
Bar is really nice and breakfast was good
Great location, remote and beautiful. Was one of the cheaper hotels around. Thin walls, could hear everytime someone moved in room above. Shower was cold and a lot of rust in the bathroom.
The surrounding landscape is beautiful, but the hotel itself is disappointing. The beautiful photographs oversell what is a cheap and basic hotel. The rooms are very basic - functional with no real care being taken. Felt more like a hospital than hotel. Walls are thin so you constantly hear the other guests. Some staff were friendly, others outright rude. Dinner option was only a buffet, you couldn't order something lighter. Breakfast buffet is a mess, the layout is clumsy and lends to overcrowding. The hotel is frequented by large tour groups which are noisy and annoying for quiet travellers.
Overpriced and misleading.
Staff was friendly and breakfast was decent. Rooms are tiny and hotel is not maintained well. I will say the rooms were clean. Website is very misleading as photos show everything new and gorgeous. Worst stay we had in Iceland and we stayed in 6 places. Absolutely not worth it.
Stayed for one night, service and location were good, friendly staff, easily accessible from the 1 and great view from the restaurant. However I find it a bit overpriced for two adults, room (250 EUR) and dinner buffet (110 EUR, without drinks). Also the window seal didn't close properly causing it to leak rain and howl from the wind the whole night.
Stayed for 1 night. Beds are super jiggly, and pillows are probably stuffed with cheap synthetic materials offering almost no support. Also there was some kind of leakage which made water drop on our window the whole night, making it super annoying.
On top of it all, wifi didn't work the entire stay which was very needed given there was very bad mobile service. Overall, this should have cost 50% of what it did. Breakfast was fine though.

It was ok but wouldn't recommend.
The room wasn’t so quiet - heard too many moving sounds throughout the night.
WiFi didn’t work.
