Thierry, the manager was exceptionally helpful to us in terms of logistics and dining locations....the entire front desk was there to serve us at all times.....they were not youg kids working at their first hotel.....
Breakfast was lovely. Location was perfect for our brief stay in Paris. Room a bit small for the price but I assume this is pretty standard for the area.
Amazing hotel, in my opinion. The service was wonderful with very helpful considerate staff. A minor complaint about the towels - we had 2 bath towels but no hand towels or face cloths. The towel warmer/drier seemed not to work. Still, I would recommend this hotel to family or friends.
There were bed bugs (hence low mark for beds/cleanliness although beds were comfortable and room was clean apart from that) ! The last night we stayed there we were fine before bed but woke up with little bites over legs, went to the doctor the next day after leaving Paris and he diagnosed bed bugs. It had a very distinctive appearance, nothing like mosquitoes. The hotel needs to throw out mattresses and boil all the sheets. We had to freeze our clothes for 3 days.
It’s very clean, however it’s very far from the main attractions. If you are there for the sights I would say look for something closer. Also, while there is a gym it opens very late at 8:30
Really dislike the rubberized mattress pad cover on the bed. With a regular mattress pad and a spare blanket for naps, we would have given higher scores.
The position of the hotel on the main street of Ile Saint Louis is handy, with numerous speciality shops and eating places in close proximity. The island has a great feel and is away from the hustle and bustle, but within walking distance of major attractions and the Metro. The entrance is discreet, but once inside the hotel the exposed 400 year old beams and high ceiling gives it immediate character. Our room was large, comfortable, clean and quiet. The exposed beams were a feature. Toilet separate from the bathroom and had no ventilation, so was a bit uncomfortably stuffy and hot. Breakfast was tasty, with typically sensational French croissants, cold meats, cheese, fruits. The complimentary bottle of French wine on arrival was a welcome bonus. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Hotel dog made it feel a little like home. Reasonably expensive, but for a short stay it is worth the cost. Posted a similar review on Expedia. Found the hotel on a Google maps search, then compared the prices from the hotel website with Expedia. Expedia was marginally cheaper, but now having stayed at the hotel I would be happy to book direct with the hotel. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
I very much enjoyed my stay here. Everyone was helpful and friendly, the location is great for walking everywhere, metro is not far, quiet. The hotel dog, Lemon was my good friend for drinks one evening. He is a good ambassador for the hotel!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel du Jeu de Pomme. While our room was a bit small, the hotel is well situated within walking distance to good restaurants and the Maret. We also walked to the Musee d’Orsee and les Tuilleries. The hotel’s staff was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants. And we enjoyed the boutique style of the hotel, which casts a modern but comfortable look to an older structure. Except for the size of the room, I’d give it a 10.
