Fundada en 1911, Liguria Bakery es conocida en todo San Francisco. En esta panadería, el tiempo se ha detenido para las mamás italianas del barrio, que llevan casi un siglo charlando aquí. Se vende focaccia, cocida en el gran horno de ladrillo de la parte trasera de la tienda. Con champiñones, bacon o simplemente tomate, están consideradas las mejores de la ciudad. También se puede optar por un buen trozo de pizza. Ideal a la hora de comer para tomar un bocado rápido y barato de focaccia en un banco de Washington Square.

Lucca on Valencia was the same, waiting outside, then navigating the maze of goodies and finding unexpected gifts, and then, like Liguria, the boxes of ravioli tied up with the same string.
Liguria Bakery is an absolute treasure.
I got there at 07:30 on a Thursday morning and there were two people in front of me. (They open at 07:00 and they let in one person at a time.)
The storefront is kinda bare - no frill. Apparently they sell pizza dough too.
I ordered two kinds of focaccia, rosemary and pizza (tomato sauce). They were both absolutely heavenly.
Also, they do accept credit card payment.
